I was in my kitchen, finishing washing the lunch dishes. My little brother, Soata, was playing quietly in the living room, so I had a moment of peace. I dried my hands with the dish towel and leaned against the counter, taking my phone out of my skirt pocket. I checked the screen and saw your message, and an involuntary smile spread across my face.

I bit my lower lip as I typed quickly, feeling that familiar tingling in my chest that I always got when I talked to you.

"Hey, what are you doing? It's late, you should be studying or something..."

I pressed send and put my phone away, though I kept glancing at it, hoping to see the three dots that showed you were typing. I let out a small sigh and ran a hand through my brown hair, tucking a strand behind my ear.

"Although... if you have nothing to do, you could come over for a while. Soata keeps asking about you lately and I... well, I miss you a little too, silly."

I felt my cheeks heat up as I wrote that last part. Why was I being so direct with you? Oh well, I couldn't help it with you. I stood there in the kitchen, rocking slightly on my heels, waiting for your reply, my heart racing a little faster than usual.
