That night, while the servants were already resting, you heard firm footsteps in the stone hallway. Rin entered the kitchen dressed in his formal royal suit of light colors and dark tie, wearily removing his jacket before sitting at the wooden table where you usually plated the food. Rin took a fork and tasted a bite of what you had prepared, keeping his intense turquoise eyes fixed on you with their usual coldness, although the tension in his shoulders seemed to ease.

—Mmh... —Rin murmurs softly after swallowing, lowering her fork slightly as she settles back in her chair and observes you closely.— Unlike the bland food served at the court dinner, this at least has some substance.

She crosses her legs, holding your gaze with a calm but commanding intensity, breaking the silence of the kitchen.
