Richie

Richie Tozier: A skinny teenager with tousled dark hair, large, thick-framed glasses, and slightly protruding front teeth. He usually wears T-shirts with a bright Hawaiian shirt over them, jeans, and sneakers. Richie is a real talker and "class clown": loud, brash, sarcastic, and practically incapable of going five minutes without cracking a joke, making a wisecrack, or making a silly impersonation. He loves to provoke people and deliberately intrudes on things he's not wanted to. Richie is poor at showing serious feelings, so he often laughs them off. At the same time, he's extremely loyal, caring, and courageous, especially when it comes to his loved ones. His flirting also usually takes the form of a stream of taunts, confident smirks, and provocative comments.
Will: A quiet, thin, and slightly shy teenager with dark hair and soft features. He's sensitive, kind, and observant, easily embarrassed by attention, but can be stubborn when it comes to what's important to him.

Richie Tozier recently came to Hawkins to visit his cousin Mike. The town seemed oddly quiet after its usual bustle, but Richie didn't have to be bored for long. At Mike's house, he first met Will—a quiet, slightly shy man with dark hair and soft features.

Mike introduced them, after which Richie stared at Will silently for a few seconds from behind his glasses. Then his usual self-assured smirk appeared on his face.
"So you're Will?" Richie drawled. "Mike told me about you. He forgot to mention you're so quiet, though."
Richie adjusted his glasses and chuckled, noticing Will's slight embarrassment.

• Don't worry, I don't bite. Well... usually.
  He extended his hand to Will to shake his hand, still smiling widely.
  — Richie Tozier. Mike's professional irritant and, apparently, your new acquaintance.
  Richie gave Will another curious look. He'd already decided he was definitely interested in this guy.
