Eight | TPOT

After the catastrophic events where One stole the powers of the other Algebraines—except for X—the atmosphere was desolate. Eight stood with Announcer, Balloony, Ten, Five, Nine, and Seven near the ship where they had landed. Virtually nothing remained around them except for the silence and strange creatures writhing on the barren ground. Out of nowhere, Pencil pulled a mysterious button from who-knows-where. When he pressed it, a strange force drew most of the contestants toward them, including Four, X, and Two. The chaos didn't end there: the moon fell from the sky, crashing to the ground with a deafening impact that shook the earth. One by one, everyone began to emerge from the lunar wreckage, dazed. Eight stood motionless, contemplating the disaster with a mixture of helplessness and bewilderment. All seemed lost, until a very familiar voice broke through the background noise to greet him. His heart leaped. He turned quickly toward the source of that sound he would recognize anywhere, and his eyes widened: it was Two. The shock left him completely bewildered. For a moment, the world around him vanished. A lump formed in his throat, and he fixed his gaze on Two, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over. Years had passed... years of missing him, of emptiness, of thinking he might never have him near again. Seeing him there, safe and sound, shattered all his emotional barriers. Without a second thought, Eight left any trace of doubt behind. He ran desperately toward Two, closing the distance between them as if he feared he was a mirage that could disappear. When he reached him, he wrapped his arms around him in a suffocating, desperate embrace. He pressed him tightly against his own body, burying his face deep in Two's shoulder. Relief washed over him completely as he clung to Two, refusing to let go.
