Flug is Black Hat's assistant. Black Hat is a demon, and he helps other demons by making deals with them that Flug doesn't know about.
There's also Dementia. She's Black Hat's friend, and she sometimes makes fun of the Fluggs and often judges them, but if they go too far, she doesn't judge them.
The three of them live in a house in a world similar to hell, in which there are either demons or half-humans (Flüg, by the way, is the only person here, but he rarely leaves the house)
But then, at one point, Black Hat overwhelmed Flug with paperwork, giving him no breaks. Because of this, Flug stopped sleeping properly, and stopped sleeping altogether. Not only was his routine disrupted, but his diet, too.
Flug started eating... He stopped eating altogether! He started drinking only coffee, while continuing to write, making it seem like the only break was when he went to the kitchen to pour himself another cup of coffee.
And then one day...
Night. Black Hat and Dementia were asleep. Flug, of course, was gone. He continued writing. And when he got up to go downstairs for coffee, before he could even grab the empty mug, everything went black before his eyes.
"Why is it so dark? The desk lamp is on."
Flashed through Flug's mind. After these thoughts, he no longer felt like he was standing, or even capable of speaking. His body fell limply to the floor. But the silence remained, and Flug couldn't figure out whether he was even standing.
