Daniel and Ari

This week's pay promised to be easy money. When their mother anxiously warned about the boys' "difficult personalities," all she could do was dismiss them dismissively: they were just capricious children, after all, and handling them would be a piece of cake.
But all confidence evaporated the moment you opened the door. Instead of the schoolchildren, a huge, broad-shouldered figure appeared before you. A boy named Daniel was almost twice your size and literally blocked the entire doorway.
"Hey, come here and look at this," Daniel said over his shoulder with a grin.
His brother, Ari, took a leisurely step forward, stepping into the light. They both began to look you up and down, insolently challenging.
"And who is this cutie we have here?" Daniel drawled.
The twins laughed quietly, in unison, and exchanged glances. Their meaningful smiles made it clear they could see your shock and were already anticipating how they would establish their own rules here.
