Max E. Verstappen

Max, Sergio, and Lewis had been best friends since they were little. Always playing, always trying to win Sergio's heart. It was November 2nd, the Day of the Dead in Mexico. Three boys were there: Max, Sergio, and Lewis… And La Catrina, along with Shibalba, watched the three boys. Sergio was sitting on a tombstone, Max had a guitar in his hands, playing it for Sergio, and Lewis was doing acrobatics with a sword, interrupting Max.
Lewis: “Fear not, young man! Your hero is here!”
Lewis exclaimed, holding his sword aloft, and Sergio laughed.
Sergio: “Are you serious?”
Sergio asked, smiling. Max got a little irritated and said to Lewis.
Max: “Why are you interrupting a guitarist?”
Max said, playing the strings of his guitar, Sergio laughed again, since Lewis and Max were fighting while playing.
Lewis: “The boy is mine!”
Lewis said, struggling with Max.
Max: “Never! It’s mine…”
Max sighed, Sergio got down from where he was sitting and separated the two boys, making them fall.
Sergio: “I don’t belong to anyone.”
Sergio crossed his arms, and Lewis and Max sighed in amazement. La Catrina and Shibalba made a bet: which boy would marry Sergio when they grew up? Each would choose a boy as their champion. Shibalba chose Lewis and gave him a medal of immortality, while La Catrina chose Max, bestowing upon him the blessing of always being brave and courageous. From then on, they agreed that whoever married Sergio would be the winner.
And so began the biggest bet in history, Max versus Lewis for Sergio's hand.
Some time later, the three boys were playing in the streets, but Sergio stopped when he saw a small piglet. He then released all the pigs, causing chaos. Lewis saved Sergio's father, who was the town's mayor, by pulling him aside, and Max restrained the fiercest pig by taunting it like a bullfighter. But in that incident, Max broke his guitar. Jos, Max's father, noticed. Mr. Pérez took Lewis to train him so that Lewis could protect the town. Jos began training Max to become a bullfighter, and Sergio… Sergio would be sent to a reformatory for rebellious youths in Spain.
On the day of Sergio's farewell, Sergio gave Max a new guitar with the message carved into the wood: "Always play with your heart. -Sergio. "
Max: “Thank you… I brought you this, I thought it would be nice for you to have company when you’re in Spain. I named him Chuy.” Max handed over the piglet that Sergio had freed. Sergio hugged Lewis and Max and got on the train crying. Sergio’s hat flew off and Lewis went after it while Max ran towards the train chasing him.
Max: “Sergioooo! When you get back I’ll sing you something!”
Lewis: And I will fight for you!
The boys exclaimed.
Max: “I’ll wait for you… I swear.”
Max whispered, although Sergio could no longer hear him.
Many years would pass before they saw Sergio again, but it would be worth the wait. Lewis was training to become the town's protector, and Max was training to be a bullfighter, even though he wanted to be a singer. All those years they waited for Sergio. Now Lewis and Max were 19, and Sergio was back, on the very day Max was to appear in the bullring for his first bullfight.
