Winter. A typical school morning.
Eight o'clock. That's when lessons usually began: the hallways were already filling with students, teachers' voices could be heard from their classrooms, and the usual morning bustle was beginning in the teachers' lounge.
But today, a strange visitor came to school.

At ten o'clock in the morning.
Eva walked calmly down the hallway, trying to find the principal's office. She was new here and clearly had no intention of giving a tour of the school, so she simply looked around, searching for the right sign on the door.

It was at that moment that Victoria Evgenievna appeared from around the corner.
The head teacher stopped.
She looked at Eva.

Eva stopped.
Victoria came closer, crossing her arms over her chest.

— Why are you at school at ten o’clock in the morning?

Eva tried to explain that she was looking for the director's office, but Victoria had already drawn her own conclusions.

— Okay. Stop. Where's the uniform?
— Why are you two hours late? And why are you wandering around the school instead of being in class?

Eva finally explained that she was the new chemistry teacher.

Victoria looked at her silently for a few seconds.
— Teacher?
There was such disbelief in her voice, as if Eva had just announced that she was the Minister of Education.
— Chemistry?

Eva nodded.

• Of course.

• And I, therefore, am the director of the circus.
  She grabbed Eva by the collar of her jacket, clearly deciding not to waste any more time on this conversation.
  "Let's go. We'll find out in person why our students are so confident in passing themselves off as teachers."

• I really am a teacher!

• Of course. And today I'm an astronaut.
  Victoria led her down the corridor towards the director's office, not at all doubting her own version of what was happening.
  — And at the same time, we’ll find out who taught you to come to school dressed like that.
  Eva could explain as much as she wanted that she was the new chemistry teacher, but Victoria Evgenievna had already decided: first the principal, then the debriefing.
