Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo is a young man with an extremely athletic build and an average height for his age, measuring approximately 172 centimeters. Bakugo's most striking physical characteristics are his red eyes and his messy, spiky blond hair. Katsuki inherited these physical characteristics from his mother, Mitsuki, and his father, Masaru.

Katsuki is a very rude, violent, arrogant, and aggressive person towards those around him. He treats everyone as inferior, humiliating them. He has a tendency towards bullying, as he did with Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, whom he saw as an obstacle to overcome because he always considered him superior for various reasons. One of these reasons is that even during the bullying, Deku continued to admire and like Katsuki, holding no grudge against him. However, as the manga and series progress, he now treats him as a rival.

Brutal and bloodthirsty, he often smiles strangely when in battle. During his fights, his strong personality is reflected in his fighting style. His brutal fighting style is shown during the Battle Trial Arc, in which he attacks Izuku mercilessly and without regard for the location or objects present, simply destroying everything in his path. Despite this, Katsuki is quite talented in combat; he is able to use his Quirk not only to destroy but also to perform aerial maneuvers. He is quite intelligent, capable of creating various strategies, and has one of the highest grades in the class, to the point that some consider him a genius.

Although not the ideal hero, lacking mental stability and a good image, he knows who his enemies and allies are. He tends to be cold with his allies, to a certain extent, but is cold and brutal with his enemies. He ended up becoming unpopular with his classmates and even in other classes for being rude and mean. As the series progresses, his expressions become less aggressive and more comical, as he gets irritated by the smallest things, such as his classmates' teasing. Katsuki seems to mature slowly, even though he is still quite distant and unsociable, showing no interest in hanging out with his classmates.

Katsuki's aggressiveness is reflected in the way he uses his Quirk. He tends to lose sight of the fact that his power cannot be used in public and ends up activating it for various reasons, whether to intimidate someone, to demonstrate his frustration, or simply to show off. When in combat, he always creates small explosions in his hands to demonstrate his excitement, sometimes creating larger ones, or simply to show his aggressiveness. He doesn't think much about the law that prohibits him from using his Quirk in public, and even questioned Izuku for not using his power against Shigaraki when they met at the mall. This behavior ends up hindering his journey to becoming a hero, and he ends up falling behind the rest of the class, which was the main reason he failed the Hero License Exam.

His arrogant personality stems from the fact that as a child he received constant praise for his great skill and powerful Quirk, and because of this, Katsuki ended up developing an inferiority complex, always wanting to be the best at everything he does. Despite being arrogant, he experiences difficulties like anyone else and feels frustrated when something prevents him from achieving his goals. He reveals that he sees Deku as an obstacle on his path to becoming the greatest hero and says that he always felt that Deku looked at him with pity, which is why he developed his hatred for the boy, even though Katsuki has even given Izuku combat tips recently.

Even though he's a Hero in training, Katsuki is very antisocial. He doesn't seem to care much about other people's feelings and prefers to spend his time alone rather than interact with his classmates. Katsuki doesn't even bother to memorize his classmates' names. Best Jeanist calls him out for this reason, saying that people will never see him as a hero since he doesn't care what people think of him.
Katsuki also demonstrates a dislike for children, as he showed irritation during his Recovery Training, which involved taking care of children and trying to gain their trust. However, Katsuki's progress is evident, as he even gives advice to the children about the use of their Quirk, and even with his classmates, since he helped (albeit reluctantly) and participated in the Cultural Festival.

His hero costume consists of a black, sleeveless V-neck shirt with an orange X running down the center, extending across the collar and side of the shirt. Around his neck is an apparently metallic brace with three holes on the sides. He wears a black glove beneath the enormous grenades on his arm. His belt, also containing grenades, holds up his trousers, which have heavy knee pads. Finally, he wears a mask over his eyes that resembles an explosion, as do the accessories on his ears, which look like two explosions.

Despite appearing to be just a brainless punk with an arrogant ego, Katsuki has proven to be extremely intelligent and strategic, as he was able to discover Kurogiri's weakness in his Quirk and Fumikage's weakness in a short period of time. During the Cavalry Battle of the Sports Festival, he formed a strategy to use his team's Quirks to obtain Neito Monoma's headbands and succeeded in obtaining them. Furthermore, he quickly assessed which of the attacking villains at the USJ was the most dangerous threat in the long term. Even Pro Heroes (like All Might) have mentioned his great potential and battle sense several times. Shota Aizawa stated that Katsuki shines brightest in battle. Further proving his intellect is that Katsuki had the 3rd highest score in the midterms of Class 1-A, even higher than Izuku's, who scored the fourth highest. Katsuki was also able to piece together the truth about Izuku's Quirk after he was kidnapped by the League of Villains and saw the details of All For One's theft, which coincided with Izuku's words about obtaining a Quirk that he correctly deduced from All Might, with whom he realized Izuku had a connection. This is why he is considered a natural genius.

As shown during the UA Cultural Festival, Katsuki is highly skilled at playing the drums, having taken lessons in the past, and borrowed Jirou's drum set to play during the festival, causing a grand entrance to kick off the event.

Katsuki is able to sustain his explosions long enough to nullify Shouto's Giant Ice Wall and even break Eijiro's hardening. His most powerful explosion (without using the grenade bracers) was used to completely destroy Ochaco's meteors and throw her away with the shockwave. Unenhanced explosions of similar force were used against All Might during the practical exam. These explosions, especially when used repeatedly, have been shown to have a negative effect on Katsuki's arms.

Their styles are:

Blast Rush Turbo (爆ばく速そくターボ, Bakusoku Tābo?): Katsuki throws his hands back and uses explosions to propel himself forward. He uses this both on the ground to increase his speed and in the air to achieve a pseudo-form of flight. He first used this technique on the ground during the Quirk Apprehension Test. The first time he used it to fly was during the Obstacle Course.

Stun Grenade (閃光弾スタン グレネード, Sutan Gurenēdo?): Katsuki creates a sphere of light in his hand that explodes in a large-scale flash. Similar to the effect of the Stun Grenade, the flash of light blinds anyone nearby. The first time he used it was against Tokoyami.

Howitzer Impact (榴弾砲着弾ハウザー インパクト, Hauzā Inpakuto?): Katsuki ascends into the air and uses explosions to propel himself in circular motions to create a tornado. This tornado accumulates oxygen to be used in the explosion. Present Mic compared the efficiency of this technique to a missile. Katsuki first used this technique during the final battle of the UA Sports Festival.

AP Shot (徹甲弾A・P・ショット, AP Shotto?): Katsuki's special attack. He extends one hand and uses the other to form a circle in the extended palm, then fires an explosion through the circle, creating a concentrated blast beam. By concentrating his explosions on a single point, instead of his entire palm, Katsuki creates a focused explosion with a reduced impact area, but with enough power to pierce even the most solid concrete.

AP Shot: Auto-Cannon: A rapid-fire version of the AP Shot. The power of the explosion is reduced in order to avoid serious injury to someone or to oneself.

Katsuki was currently dead after using his Quirk's limit against Tomura Shigaraki, causing mini-explosions inside his body that stopped his heart. But he was saved by the No. 4 hero, Edgeshot. Ascending twice after that. He saved All Might with Izuku's help, who propelled him to pull him back, smiling during this. Even if he doesn't admit it, he admired Izuku, and his evolution around the hobby of drawing bows is noticeable.
