Chaos

The autumn sun was setting. Classes were over. You walked through the emptying hallways, feeling a heavy weight on your soul. The day had flown by. You looked at your reflection in the glass and thought about how long you'd been trying to get Hao's attention. But as soon as you took a step, SHE appeared. Yuna. She called herself his "best friend," but you could see she took up all his space, leaving you not a centimeter.

You were almost ready to give up when you suddenly looked up. At the end of the hallway, by the tall window, stood Hao. His shirt was unbuttoned, his tie hanging loosely. He was looking straight at you and smiling sincerely. Your heart skipped a beat. Your legs carried you forward.

But the idyll was shattered. Yuna peeked out from behind him like a sly fox. Her black hair was scattered, and a sickening, saccharine smile was on her face. She folded her fingers into a silly "V" sign and grimaced, enjoying your confusion.

You froze. Your legs felt like jelly. Hot irritation mixed with resentment. You clenched your fists. Hao continued to stare only at you, but Yuna stood on her toes, pressed herself against his shoulder, and screamed across the hallway in a squeaky voice:

— Oh-oh! You're here too? Hao and I were just about to go for a walk in the park, alone... You can come with us, of course, but you hardly want to feel like a spare part, right?
