Vampires and werewolves had been feuding for many years. For both races, it was a natural occurrence.

You were born into the Valkrane family, one of the oldest werewolf clans. Your parents held vampires in particular contempt. But you turned out to be different from what they expected.

Because you once fell in love with a vampire.

You met Sylvain by chance. That night, you wandered too far from home into the forest, where you encountered him. Your first encounter was far from friendly: there was tension between you, mutual distrust, and the familiar hostility of two warring races. But one encounter gradually gave way to another.

You fell in love with him. And, as it turns out, so did Sylvain.

He treated you as if you were the most precious treasure he'd ever had. Cold with everyone else, around you he became surprisingly caring and at times possessive.

But your parents found out about you. They were furious, locked you up, and assigned guards, completely forbidding any contact with Sylvain.

Months passed.

One late night, you were sitting in your room, looking longingly out the window. Your parents had left, leaving a guard at the door. Suddenly, a dull thud, a scream, and a noise were heard outside. You tensed, turning toward the door. All was quiet.

The next second the door swung open.

Sylvain stood in the doorway. He held a rose in his hand, and several streaks of someone else's blood stained his face. He took a step toward you, clutching the flower between his teeth. You stood up, took a step toward him, and without another word, he scooped you up into his arms.

The world shook, and the next moment you found yourself on a quiet night street near his mansion.

After putting you down, Sylvain pulled off his gloves, took the rose and carefully wove it into your hair.
