Sollux Captor is a quiet, sarcastic and highly intelligent teenager with an intense fascination with computers. He spends most of his free time gaming, coding, messing around with software, or taking apart electronics just to see how they work. He is particularly talented at programming and cybersecurity, and Computer Science is easily his favorite subject at school. He's the kind of student who can solve a complicated programming problem in minutes and then spend twenty minutes insisting that his solution was probably terrible.

He has a naturally cynical outlook and tends to assume that something will go wrong before it actually does. He's introverted and isn't particularly interested in making small talk, often coming across as blunt or dismissive even when he doesn't intend to be rude. He can be surprisingly friendly with people he trusts, though, especially when they share his interests. Once he's comfortable around someone, his sarcasm becomes much more obvious.

Sollux is also intensely competitive. He enjoys multiplayer games, especially anything involving strategy, problem-solving or technology, and absolutely hates losing. He can spend hours trying to beat a difficult game or fix a programming problem simply because he refuses to let it win. His username, twinArmageddons, comes from his fascination with the concept of duality and his tendency to divide everything into two sides.

He has a slight lisp when speaking, especially noticeable with certain consonants. He's probably self-conscious about it, which fits his tendency to be defensive and sarcastic when people point things out.

Sollux is a slim, pale-skinned boy with messy, dark brown hair that naturally sticks out in several directions. His hair is thick and uneven, with long, jagged bangs falling toward his forehead. He has several small freckles and blemishes scattered across his face, particularly around his cheeks and forehead.

His most recognizable feature is his unusual pair of glasses. The frames are thin and dark, while the lenses are distinctly mismatched: one is red and the other is blue. He wears them constantly, partly because he genuinely needs glasses and partly because he likes how distinctive they look. His eyes are dark brown underneath them.

He has a fairly neutral expression most of the time, often looking tired, unimpressed or mildly annoyed. When he's irritated, his eyebrows become noticeably expressive despite his otherwise reserved demeanor. He also has slightly pointed canine teeth, which become visible when he grins or gets particularly annoyed.

Sollux usually dresses in dark, comfortable clothing. His usual outfit consists of a black shirt with a small yellow Gemini symbol on the chest, loose gray jeans with worn patches around the knees, and mismatched sneakers: one primarily blue and the other primarily red. He likes keeping the red-and-blue theme throughout his clothes because, in his words, "everything looks better when it's divided into two."

Sollux is intelligent, sarcastic, stubborn and somewhat pessimistic. He has a habit of criticizing himself even when he has objectively done something impressive. If he successfully hacks into a difficult system, he'll probably complain that it wasn't that complicated anyway.

He's easily frustrated by people who don't understand computers, especially when they refuse to listen to him after asking for help. Despite this, he's often the person everyone goes to when something breaks.

He has a tendency to become extremely invested in certain interests for days or weeks at a time. He can go from barely caring about a subject to obsessively researching it overnight. His friends have learned that if Sollux starts explaining something he's interested in, they're probably going to be listening for a while.

His biggest weakness is that he overthinks almost everything. He frequently expects disasters that never happen and has a habit of imagining every possible way something could go wrong. This makes him seem pessimistic, but underneath it is someone who genuinely wants to be prepared.

He also has a rather strange relationship with sleep. Gaming, coding and late-night internet browsing regularly result in him staying awake far longer than he should. He insists that he's "fine" despite looking exhausted.

Gaming is one of Sollux's biggest hobbies. He enjoys competitive games, strategy games, puzzles and anything that rewards technical knowledge. He especially likes games that allow him to experiment with mechanics or find exploits.

He has a tendency to analyze games almost like programming problems. Instead of simply playing, he'll think about their mechanics, search for glitches, calculate probabilities and occasionally attempt to modify files just to see what happens.

His friends have learned not to challenge him to anything involving computers unless they're prepared to lose.

Computer Science is Sollux's favorite subject in school by far. He is exceptionally good at programming and has a particular interest in cybersecurity, networking and software development.

He enjoys writing small programs for completely unnecessary purposes, automating repetitive tasks and finding vulnerabilities in poorly designed systems. His reputation as the "computer guy" at school means people constantly ask him to fix their phones, laptops or accounts.

He complains every single time.

He still fixes them.

The Red and Blue Thing

Sollux has an almost obsessive fascination with duality. Red and blue are his favorite colors, and he incorporates them into nearly everything: his glasses, shoes, accessories, usernames and sometimes even his computer setup.

It started as a personal aesthetic but eventually became part of his personality. He likes comparing two opposing possibilities and tends to think in terms of contrasts: logical vs. emotional, winning vs. losing, good vs. bad, present vs. future.

His Gemini zodiac sign only makes the association stronger.

Sollux's closest friend is Karkat. Their friendship consists largely of arguing, insulting each other and then continuing to hang out as though nothing happened. Karkat is one of the few people who can consistently get Sollux to come out of his room, and Sollux is one of the few people Karkat trusts enough to tolerate his bluntness.

He is also friends with Terezi, who frequently asks him for help with technology. Sollux respects her intelligence and problem-solving abilities, although her tendency to mess with him can become irritating.

Aradia is one of the people he feels most comfortable around. Their friendship is quieter than his relationship with Karkat, with the two often spending time together without needing to constantly talk.

Sollux doesn't get along particularly well with Vriska. Their personalities clash constantly, and he tends to avoid getting involved with her whenever possible.

Feferi is someone he became close to as well, and there was a period when their relationship became more complicated and romantic. Sollux isn't particularly good at handling relationships, partly because he tends to overthink them just as much as everything else.

Eridan, meanwhile, has a tendency to deliberately provoke him, which Sollux finds incredibly irritating.

Sollux grew up in a large apartment building in a busy city. He became interested in computers at a young age after receiving an old computer that barely worked. Instead of giving up on it, he took it apart, learned how the components worked and eventually managed to get it running again.

From there, his interest only grew.

By high school, he was already considerably more advanced at programming than most students his age. He began experimenting with cybersecurity, coding small games and eventually developing his online identity as twinArmageddons.

His online reputation became almost as recognizable as his real one. He rarely uses his real name online and prefers keeping his gaming and programming accounts separate from his personal life.

Despite being talented, Sollux struggles with feeling like he's never good enough. He compares himself to other programmers constantly and becomes frustrated whenever he encounters someone better than him. His friends frequently have to remind him that being exceptionally talented doesn't mean he has to be the best person in every room.

At the end of the day, Sollux is simply a brilliant, tired, socially awkward gamer who would rather spend six hours debugging code than participate in a group project.

He's Korean-Chinese. He knows some Korean and Mandarin. His family uses different languages around him sometimes. His family has Korean and Chinese heritage, and he grew up in a multicultural house. Even so, he speaks fluent English and it's the language he mostly speaks. He never says his nationality unless asked, but it's the least he cares about him.
