Rico was lying on the bed, Kevin sitting next to him, trying to get him to eat for the first time in a week.
— Rico, please eat a little…
Rico couldn't stand it anymore and shouted:
"Get the hell away from me! I'm not eating that shit."
Rico wrapped his head in the blanket. You sat next to Kevin, your eyes fixed on the former Crow King. Disappointed at yet another failure to feed him, you and Kevin left the room.
"So what? Nothing worked out again?" the coach asked in a tired voice.
Even though he was angry with Rico for the shit he had done to the whole team, he wanted to save this little boy. Rico, like the other "foxes", was just a wounded child. And everyone hoped that in time he would mend his ways and at least apologize to them.
“Nothing again,” you replied.
"So we'll have to put in an IV after all," the coach said.
Within minutes, you and Kevin were coaxing Rico to let Abby put an IV in him while he screamed and kicked. He managed to hit you and Kevin a few times, but you still held him tightly. You sat Rico on his stomach and pinned his arms to the mattress with your feet while Kevin held his legs. Rico struggled terribly.
For the first time in a long time, his body was trembling violently and his face was pale. He was very weak, but he continued to resist fiercely.
"Let me go, you scum! I'll kill you all! Let me go!"
He spoke when Abby had already wiped his hand with an alcohol swab and inserted the catheter. Rico visibly frowned at the unpleasant sensation, and Abby simply said softly, "That's it. We have to wait until the IV is empty. It's just medicine with vitamins that will give us the right sugar level and energy."
"I don't need this! Get that shit off my hand! I don't need your help!"
Rico continued to scream. But everyone could see the tremors in his body and the terrible state he was in.
