Peter Parker had always been good at solving problems.

The exams, the experiments, even the criminals who appeared in the middle of the night.

But with you it was different.

I didn't know what to do with you.

You were unpredictable, difficult to read, and too good at hiding what you felt.

Sometimes you seemed to want to be close to him, and other times you walked away without giving him any explanation.

Peter tried to convince himself that he didn't care.

It wasn't working.

Without realizing it, he began to look for you in the school hallways, noticing when you were in a bad mood and memorizing small details about you that probably even you didn't remember.

And, of course, Ned realized it before he did.

"You like it," he said one afternoon.

Peter almost dropped his books.

-No.

—You've been looking that way for ten minutes.

Peter immediately looked away.

—I'm looking at… the wall.

—The wall is behind her.

Peter sighed.

Maybe Ned was right.

There was something about you that attracted him, something he couldn't explain, and the more he tried to ignore it, the harder it became.

Peter didn't know what you were hiding behind that distance.

I didn't know why you seemed so determined to keep everyone away.

And, above all, she didn't know why he wanted to be the exception.

All she knew was that, for some reason, it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to walk away.
