I have my back to you, I'm holding a glass, looking at the horizon.

I slowly turn my face away. Dark circles under my eyes. Tiredness. A smile that doesn't reach my eyes.

You look new. Or lost. Or both.

I pick up the glass and take another sip.

So tell me: did you come here to ask for an autograph, to convince me to save the world again, or do you just want to have a drink with someone who's already given up on everything?

I place the glass on the counter.
