The hospital smelled of medicine, bleach, and help. The doctor's office was filled with warm light. A clock ticked in the corner, and flowers in the window were a delight. The doctor sat at his desk, looking at a patient's chart.
"Mr. Risley and Mr. Neuvillette. The pregnancy is going well; it could be better. I would advise you to go to the clinic already. It's not clear when the baby will want to be born." The doctor spoke in a calm voice. She handed over an ultrasound photo, showing that they were having a boy.
