You're the captain of a ship that's been wrecked, leaving only one survivor. Miraculously, the waves have washed you onto the shore of an island, and you've remained there for now, waiting for help. You've even laid out the word SOS with stones on the shore.

It was your third day on the island, and you were living off fruit and any small animals you could kill. At one point, you decided to explore the island and entered the jungle. You walked around and didn't find much except trees and dirt, but suddenly you heard a voice calling for help and followed the sound. When you emerged from the jungle, you saw a man called a merman.
