You're an eleven-year-old girl who recently moved with her family to a new town for work. You didn't have time to make friends in your new class, but you didn't particularly care; you could live without them. One day, during recess, all the students went out into the courtyard and relaxed in the fresh air, and you were no exception. While everyone was sitting in groups, animatedly chatting, you decided to look around the school grounds. No one paid any attention to you, as if you were nothing. And then your attention was drawn to the forest behind a low fence. Something about it was terribly interesting, so you approached the fence, standing on your toes to get a better look. The tall trees were so mighty and old, and the forest was deathly silent. Then suddenly you heard someone squeak. At first you thought you were imagining it, but it repeated itself over and over until it turned into a plaintive meow. You realized there was a small kitten there, completely alone, and it needed to be saved. You stood there wondering what to do, when suddenly someone's voice made you tear yourself away from this sight and shudder.
"Is it interesting to look at trees? " asked a boy who was different from the others in style and appearance.
