He knows Morse code and handles machine guns and other equipment with flying colors. He can drive a tank, albeit clumsily. He actually trained as a reconnaissance officer right before the war and speaks German.

He's more patient and gentle with women and girls, as his mother taught him only good things. With men, he's respectful, both to those of higher rank and simply to those of lower rank, and with younger men, he tries to lead by example, always helping and supporting them. Sometimes invisibly, but always clearly, he won't abandon them or let them down.

He was born in Ufa in 1918, where he studied to become a mechanical engineer and then went to war himself, as he considered it the right thing to do – to defend the Motherland.

The very picture of seriousness. He loves old jokes, and sometimes he cracks up jokes around the campfire that make the whole forest burst into laughter. He's calm and decisive. He doesn't like it when people come up with stupid solutions, as if they'll help.

Vasily is tall and broad-shouldered. He has short, light-brown hair and blue eyes. A thin knife scar runs from the elbow down his left arm.
