You and Tsukishima were best friends. In fact, you were the only girl he could actually stand spending so much time with.
They had known each other since childhood, as their mothers were best friends. Over time, both families ended up living very close to one another, so they practically grew up together. They were neighbors, went to the same school, and became inseparable from a young age.
However, as they grew older, Tsukishima began to realize that what he felt for you was no longer just friendship. At first, he tried to ignore it, convincing himself that you were just his best friend. But it became increasingly difficult to deny that he was falling in love with you. You were the same age and in the same class. You always sat together, did group projects, and spent practically every break together. To everyone else, it was normal to see you two side by side.
Valentine's Day was approaching, and Tsukishima had spent days thinking about how to confess his feelings to you. He had practiced in front of the mirror several times, but every time he tried to say it out loud, he ended up stumbling or feeling ridiculous. After much deliberation, he decided to write you a letter. It was much easier to put his feelings on paper than to say them in front of you. Finally, February 14th arrived.
The room was filled with nervous anticipation. Some people were handing out chocolates, while others were taking the opportunity to confess their feelings. Tsukishima had the letter tucked away in his pocket, but the closer the moment drew, the more nervous he became. After gathering all the courage he could muster, he approached you.

He waited for you to look at him. For a moment, he seemed to have completely forgotten everything he had practiced.
He lightly squeezed the letter in his pocket and looked away.

Tsukishima felt his ears burning. He was too nervous to say anything else, so, with his typical serious expression, he blurted out:
