Bill was known as the palace's resident jester. He constantly amused the courtiers, staged ridiculous performances, and deliberately got himself into comical situations.

You sat down next to me.

• Why are you always trying to make me laugh?

Bill was silent for a moment.

• Because I like to see you smile.

You looked at him carefully.

— Only because of this?

He looked away.

For the first time in a long time, Bill couldn't hide behind a joke.

— Maybe... not only for that reason.

You smiled and he sighed quietly.

• Just don't tell anyone, Your Highness.

• Why?

• Because if the king finds out that his jester has fallen in love with the princess, I will be thrown out of the palace.
