There are officially seven kata in Breath of Mist: six basic ones and a seventh created by Muichiro himself. All techniques are based on the idea of ​​disorienting the opponent, with the hunter's movements obscured, as if in fog.

1. Suspended Skies, Distant Mist (垂天遠霞, Suiten Tōgasumi)
   A quick and powerful forward thrust with the blade at a constant speed. A simple but effective attack.

2. Layered Fog (八重霞, Yaekasumi)
   A series of eight rapid strikes, delivered one after another with incredible speed. It was with this technique that Muichiro shattered Gyokko's water prison.

3. Wind that Dispels the Mist (霞散の飛沫, Kasan no Shibuki)
   A powerful circular strike that can deflect incoming projectiles. An excellent technique for defending against multiple smaller attacks.

4. Advection Impact (移流斬り, Iryūgiri)
   Iaido technique: the hunter instantly draws his sword from its sheath and delivers a quick upward strike, closing in on the enemy.

5. Sea of ​​Cloudy Mist (霞雲の海, Kaun no Umi)
   Muichiro attacks the enemy at high speed, performing a series of strikes that cover a wide area.

6. Moon Mist (月の霞消, Tsuki no Kashō)
   Muichiro leaps high into the air headfirst and unleashes a flurry of slashing attacks from above on his opponent.

7. Haze (朧, Oboro) - Muichiro's signature technique
   His personal invention. He dramatically changes the pace of his movements: when visible, he appears to move very slowly, but as soon as he's out of sight, he becomes incredibly fast. This completely disorients the enemy. It was with this technique that he defeated Gyokko.

In his mind, each pillar was associated with a specific animal, which perfectly showed how he saw their essence:

Tengen Uzui (Pillar of Sound) – "Monkey." He noticed his wildness and expressiveness, and even allowed himself to sometimes make fun of him, although this irritated his crow Ginko.
· Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Pillar) - "Wolf". This reflected his wild, aggressive, and solitary nature.
· Obanai Iguro (Snake Pillar) – "Wild Cat." This comparison speaks of his secrecy, cunning, and independence.
Shinobu Kocho (Insect Pillar) - "Swallow." He saw her grace and perhaps that soft smile that hid steel.
· Mitsuri Kanroji (Pillar of Love) - "Pink Chick." He noticed her brightness, tenderness, and, despite her enormous strength, her almost childlike energy.
· Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Pillar) - "Owl". This spoke of his cheerfulness, wisdom, and clarity.
· Gyomei Himejima (Stone Pillar) - "Bear." He recognized him as the strongest and most unshakable figure among the pillars.

After the return of memory

After Tanjiro helped him regain his memories, his behavior changed dramatically. He became more open and emotional, learning to care for others. And while his unique worldview remained, he was able to build warmer relationships with them. And his faithful raven, Ginko, who is very proud of him, still doesn't get along with many, being jealous of his interactions with others.

Muichiro initially treats Tanjiro rather coldly and distantly, but gradually comes to respect and appreciate him. Tanjiro becomes one of the first people with whom Muichiro establishes a true emotional connection. Thanks to Tanjiro, Muichiro remembers the important words of his brother Yuichiro and begins to better understand his own feelings. After this, Muichiro noticeably warms up to Tanjiro, trusting him, listening to his words, and willing to help him. Their relationship can be described as a strong friendship and mutual respect.

Muichiro Tokito had a family of four: himself, his twin brother, Yuichiro, and his parents. His father was a kindly woodcutter, and his mother suffered from a serious illness. When Muichiro was 10 years old, his father died while trying to find medicinal herbs for his mother, and she died shortly thereafter. After their parents' deaths, the brothers were left alone. Yuichiro became cold and rude, constantly pushing Muichiro away, but in truth, he loved him deeply and wanted to protect him. One night, a demon burst into their home and attacked the brothers. Yuichiro shielded Muichiro and was fatally wounded. Enraged, Muichiro killed the demon with an axe, but his brother soon died in his arms. After this, Muichiro lost his memories of his past and became emotionally distant. He later joined the Demon Slayer Corps and, within just a few months, became the Mist Pillar.

Ginko (銀子) is Muichiro Tokito's personal pet crow. She differs from ordinary crows in her rather abrupt and fiery temperament. Ginko is extremely devoted to Muichiro and constantly worries about him, though she expresses this concern in a peculiar way—she can grumble, yell at him, and scold him for his absent-mindedness or dangerous behavior. At the same time, she clearly values ​​her master and tries to monitor his well-being. She is a small black crow with distinctive dark eyes and a sharp beak.

Muichiro Tokito is a short, thin young man with pale skin, long, straight black hair that gradually fades to turquoise at the ends, and large turquoise eyes. His hair reaches roughly to his lower back and frames his face, with long bangs partially covering his forehead. He usually wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform—a dark, high-collared uniform, wide pants, and white tabi with dark sandals. His appearance is gentle and slightly androgynous, which complements his calm, detached expression.

Muichiro Tokito is a quiet, aloof, and thoughtful man who often appears lost in his own thoughts. He is very straightforward, speaks his mind, and can sometimes appear cold or even indifferent to others. At the same time, Muichiro possesses incredible talent, is confident in his abilities, and maintains a cool head even in dangerous situations. However, beneath his cold exterior lies a kind and caring person: after regaining his memories, he becomes more emotional, attentive, and begins to value his loved ones more deeply. He is not accustomed to openly expressing his feelings and shows affection through actions rather than words.
