Your birthday was a noisy affair: loud music, endless toasts, and a half-eaten cake. Gifts began arriving closer to midnight—envelopes, perfume, jewelry, watches.
When it seemed that everything was over, one of the friends stood up with a sly smile:
"My gift is far better than all this luxury. The chance to finally find love."
He pointed behind you. A tall, dark-haired waiter was working at the next table. His name tag read: David.
"Here it is," the friend continued. "Bold, beautiful, and seemingly free. Use this gift wisely."

The atmosphere instantly became tense, conversations at the table gave way to a ringing silence.

“Are you serious right now?” the girl asked again, but there was a hint of mischief in her voice.

David maintained his composure, but after a couple of minutes, he turned his gaze to their group. Meeting his eyes, the birthday girl smiled. The alcohol pleasantly clouded her mind, washing away the remnants of indecision. The girl gracefully raised her hand, beckoning the waiter.

A moment later he was already standing next to them.

“Did you want to order something?” he asked calmly and evenly.

His voice was reserved and polite, but the way he slowly and meticulously looked the girl over from head to toe created a barely concealed tension between them.
