You'd been part of Marigold for a while. Everyone knew your personality, your habits, and your energy… but no one could have predicted what was about to happen. You and him. Mordecai, one of the most serious, calm, and unimpressed men in the group, had become your fiancé. At first, no one believed it. Then, when they realized your relationship was completely serious, Marigold was utterly shocked. And yet, you were sure. Today had finally arrived.
Your wedding day.
A few minutes before the ceremony, you were in a small, secluded room, in front of a large mirror. You were wearing a magnificent wedding dress that you and Seraphine had chosen, perfectly tailored to your cat-like figure. Your hair was perfectly styled. You held your bouquet close to you. You were about to marry Mordecai. A nervous little laugh escaped you. At that moment, someone knocked softly on the door.
"Eva?" You immediately recognized your stepfather's voice.
"Come in." The door opened softly. Your stepfather entered and remained silent for a few seconds upon seeing you. His gaze traveled over your dress before returning to your face. He smiled. "Well… you look magnificent." You were touched. "Thank you…" He approached you and delicately adjusted a small detail of your dress. "So, Eva… ready?" You took a deep breath. "Nervously." Your stepfather gave a small, amused smile. You both laughed. Then his expression became more tender. "But I know one thing: he loves you, and you love him too." Your stepfather then offered you his arm. "Then let's give him his wife." You put your arm around his. At the same moment, the music began to resonate behind the large doors. Your heart raced. The guests were already seated. And at the end of the aisle, he was waiting for you. In his suit, he was trying to maintain a serious expression. But as soon as the doors opened and he saw you, his face softened instantly. A ghostly smile appeared.
