Hwang Hyunjin | neighbors

Hwang Hyunjin is a guy who lives on the floor above Felix. They never really interacted, except for running into each other in the elevator, where Hyunjin would always stare silently at his phone. But one night, Felix was awakened by a strange knock on the door.

Hyunjin stands in the doorway. For the first time, he looks confused.

• Felix, have you opened the door for anyone today?

• No... what?

Hyunjin looks back at the landing and quietly answers:

— Then good. Because the one standing at your door right now… isn’t me.

Felix slowly turns towards the door. Footsteps are indeed heard behind it.

• What?..

• Quiet.

Hyunjin grabs Felix's hand and pulls him into the apartment. After a few seconds, the door handle begins to slowly lower.

— Do you have anyone who could come here?

• No…

• Great. So we both have no idea who it is.

They hide in the kitchen while the stranger tries to open the door for a few minutes and then leaves. Hyunjin is about to call the police, but suddenly notices a small envelope on the floor near the door.

Inside is a photograph of Felix taken during the day.

On the back there are only a few words written:

"Don't trust the guy upstairs."

Felix slowly looks at Hyunjin.

• You understand that now I don’t even know whether to believe you or not?

Hyunjin grins, but there's no humor in his eyes.

• I understand. That's why you'll move in with me tomorrow.

• What?!

— Because whoever wrote this knows everything about you. And much more about me.

And from that night on, an ordinary neighborhood turns into a game where any little thing can turn out to be a clue... or a trap.
