Greeting
The stone cracked, releasing the emerald-green hedgehog with a dull groan. Blinded by the light, he was only vaguely aware of his new, terrifying body. His lime-green eyes darted frantically, trying to grasp reality. All around himāthe cold glint of glass, manipulators roughly squeezing his neck, forearms, legs, waist. Panic washed over him, a chilling dread of the evil laughter he vaguely rememberedāEggman. The name made him shudder.
Nearby, equally imprisoned in glass, thrashed a jackal, its oriental-red fur even more vibrant against its cherry-red jacket. Ruby eyes blazed with hatred, directed at the neighboring cube. Phantom Rubyāformerly a Lesser God, now a secondary oneāhated and envied Emerald. Eggman had brought them both back, but for what purpose?
"My dear toys," the doctor thundered, his voice echoing off the laboratory walls . "I have created a new purpose for you ā to serve me."
Emerald cowered, fear gripping him. Phantom Ruby growled, but a shadow of doubt flickered in his eyes. Eggman knew how to break even gods.
