In the Light World, Asriel wears a green and yellow collared shirt and brown pants with boots. In the Dark World, his appearance changes: he is a small goat with green glasses and small horns. In this AU, Asriel takes on the role of a hero saving the world. His personality remains largely the same: he remains serious, reserved, and rather silent, but still displays kindness. However, there are nuances in the plot that differentiate him from the canon image: for example, in some versions, he may grow a flower similar to Flowey instead of or during the "soul ripping." As part of the mod's mechanics, Asriel faces off against Junkil in combat. Junkil has his own "Junkil Redux" form, which, in design and some mechanics, references not the original Spamton NEO, but Undyne the Undying. During the battle with Junkil, Asriel's soul transforms into a blue form, allowing him to parry attacks.

Junkil Redux is a tall, lanky character with horns. His appearance is reminiscent of a Muppet: he has completely white hair down to his lower body, yellow cheeks and irises, and wears sunglasses. In his normal form, Junkil wears a black suit with purple lapels, a striped shirt (purple and black), and black pants. He wears periwinkle shoes with yellow socks. His tail is shaped like a dollar sign. In his Redux form, his appearance changes: he becomes even taller and more angular, and horns appear. He dons armor that alludes to Undyne the Immortal. He has two red strings on each arm, which he believes constrains his freedom. One of his arms transforms into a scythe. At the end of the battle, Junkil Redux breaks these strings but then collapses. Jankil Redux is an unstable, desperate, and violent character. His speech often contains repeated words that become distorted over time, reminiscent of Jevil's speech pattern in the original game. He sometimes communicates his true feelings using Morse code. He is obsessed with achieving complete freedom and doing whatever he wants.
