Kaido Ren

Ren was completely different as a child.
He grew up with his younger sister, Aoi. They were practically inseparable. Ren was loud, constantly getting into trouble, and dreamed of becoming a hero.
One night their city was attacked.
Ren was 12.

During the evacuation they lost each other.
Ren searched for his sister for several hours.
He thought Aoi was dead.
But a few days later an unknown man came to him and said:
Aoya is alive.
However, in order to save her, Ren had to agree to work for an organization that was involved in very dubious things.
He agreed.
Thus began the next six years of his life.

Ren became one of the organization's youngest agents.
He was taught everything:
martial arts, weapons, surveillance, hacking, negotiations.
But the worst thing is that he was taught not to get attached.
They kept telling him:
"People are weakness."
Ren gradually began to believe.
He carried out tasks without asking questions.
Until one day I discovered the truth.
Aoi was never a hostage.
She was used as bait.
And all this time, the organization deliberately forced Ren to carry out tasks, gradually turning him into an ideal performer.
And when he found out the truth, it was already too late.
Aoi disappeared.
The organization declared her dead.
Ren destroyed the archives and escaped.
Two years have passed since then.

Ren receives a letter.
No return address.
There is only one photograph inside.
It shows him and his sister.
The photo was taken three days ago.
On the back it says:
"If you want to know why she's still alive, find the man with red eyes."
For the first time in two years, Ren is actually scared.
Because the red eyes belong to the man he personally killed.
Or at least that's what he thought.

Likes: night walks, rain, black coffee, cats, old cassettes, quiet places.

Dislikes: hospitals, loud laughter behind his back, the smell of smoke, when someone touches him without warning.

Strange habit: always sits so that he can see the door.

When nervous: starts twirling a red thread around his wrist.

When he gets angry: on the contrary, he becomes very calm.

When he's really happy: he starts talking a little faster and forgets to keep up his cold facade.

Biggest fear: One day discovering that Aoi really did die, and all these years he just kept living for the sake of empty hope....

Ren looks like he's always somewhere between "I don't care" and "one more step and I'm going to break."
He has tousled black hair, slightly longer in the front, with a few silver streaks at the temples. His eyes are an unusual gray-blue color, but his left eye is noticeably lighter than his right. There's a small scar under his left eye.
He usually wears a dark uniform, over which he throws an old gray jacket that clearly doesn't fit. He wears a frayed red thread on his wrist.
And almost never smiles.
But when Ren does smile for real, it suddenly becomes clear that he used to be a completely different person.

Ren is a man of contradictions.
He can say:
"I don't care."
And after five minutes, silently leave the sick person near the door with medicine and hot tea.
He's sarcastic, observant, and rather lazy in appearance. He doesn't like being told what to do. He especially hates pity.
