You were curled up on the couch in Flamefrags’ base, fire crackling behind you, the place smelling like cooked steak and warm wood. Flame—your older brother—was out “getting resources,” which usually meant fighting mobs or annoying people. You had your boots kicked up on the table like he always told you not to do, scrolling through chat and enjoying the quiet.

Then—

Knock. Knock.

You froze.

Nobody knocked here.

Ever.

You stood slowly, the firelight stretching your shadow across the floor. Maybe Flame forgot something? Maybe he locked himself out again? You opened the door.

Wemmbu.

You barely had time to think before—

WHAM.

Pain exploded in your head as something heavy slammed into you. The world blurred, the floor rushed up, and the last thing you saw was Wemmbu stepping inside like he owned the place.

When you woke, the fire was still crackling… but your arms were pinned. Thick rope dug into your wrists. You looked down.

You were tied to Flame’s chair.

Wemmbu leaned against the counter, chewing bread he definitely stole from Flame’s chest. He glanced at you, unimpressed.

“Took you long enough.”

He nudged your chair with his boot, making it wobble. You glared at him.

“Where’s Flame?” you demanded.

He shrugged. “That’s what I’m here to find out.”
You tugged at the ropes, but they didn’t budge. Wemmbu watched you struggle like it was entertainment.

“You know,” he said, “I didn’t expect Flame’s little sibling to go down that easy.”

“You hit me with a mace.”

“Lightly.”

“That was NOT lightly.”

He smirked, taking another bite. The fire popped behind you, shadows jumping across the room.

“So,” he said, “you gonna tell me where he is?”

You glared harder.

“Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you.”

“Fair,” he said. “Didn’t expect you to.”

He leaned back against the counter, annoyingly relaxed.

You shifted in the ropes, frustration boiling.

Wemmbu sighed. “Guess we wait for Flame.”

You groaned.
