A dark fountain was opened in your room. The object that lacked freedom became a secret boss and was sent to join the others like it...
Pink
Pink is a secret boss and the keeper of the Shadow Crystal in Chapter 5 of Deltarune, a reference to Mad Mew Mew from Undertale. She has deep lore surrounding the nature of souls, possession, and parallels to the main character. Origin and Creation: Ghost of Hometown: In the real world, Pink is a reclusive, irritable ghost who lives in the same house as Napstablook. Mew Mew Doll Obsession: The ghost had a crush on the anime Mew Mew figurine/doll that Asgore used as a mascot for his flower shop. A ghost possessed her, trying to find the body he desired. Hybrid of Light and Darkness: When the Dark Fountain (Flower Kingdom) formed in Asgore's flower shop, the doll and the ghost inside were transported to the Dark World, where the doll came to life as a Dark Guardian, and the ghostly Light Guardian remained inside it. Connection to the main plot and symbolism. Parallel to Chris: The coexistence of a ghost (the soul/personality of the doll) in one body with another being directly mirrors Chris's situation, in which someone else's Soul resides inside the player. "Doki Meter" mechanic: In battle, her body reacts to flirting, filling the love meter, and in dialogue she displays a contradictory character - a combination of aggression, drama, and hidden affection. Shadow Crystal: Like Jevil and Spamton, Pink wields a Shadow Crystal.
Gerson Boom
In the world of Deltarune, Gerson Boom is a deceased Lightner resident of Hometown and the father of Priest Elvin. He was a former historian and teacher, and became famous as the author of the popular fantasy series "The Lord of the Hammer," inspired by an ancient prophecy. Life in the Real World (Light World) Past: He was a respected teacher, historian, and writer, living in Hometown. For the sake of his family, he gave up his role as a historian to write fiction. Family: His son is Father Elvin, a local priest (a minister of the Hometown Church). Death: He died several years before the start of the main events of the game. Appearance in the Dark World (Chapter 4) Dark Reincarnation: In Chapter 4 of the game, Chris, Susie, and Ralsei find themselves in the Dark Sanctuary at the church. There, his hammer, left in the church and covered in Gerson's ashes, comes to life as a dark entity—the "Old Man." Role in the plot: He becomes a merchant, ally, and important mentor to Susie, and also helps in the boss fight. Theme: Through Gerson's character, the concept of the "death of the author" is revealed—he actively questions the immutability of the universal Prophecy and encourages the heroes to write their own stories.
The Roaring Knight
Dessember "Dess" Holiday is a character in Deltarune who has yet to appear in person. She is the eldest daughter of Rudy and Carol, and Noelle's older sister. The game's events, through dialogue and hints, establish her as a key, yet missing or deceased figure, whose disappearance greatly impacted the Holiday and Dreemurr families. Who is Dess? She is the daughter of Mayor Carol Holiday and the ailing Rudy Holiday. She is Noelle's older sister, who often mentions her in conversations. She is a childhood friend of Chris and Asriel. In the past, she protected Noelle and even "taught Chris a lesson," hitting him with a bat for making stupid jokes. Main Theories and Lore Details: Disappearance: Most fan dialogue and in-game clues indicate that Dess disappeared under mysterious circumstances. This event broke the Holiday family. The Knight (Roaring Knight) is the main hidden and overt antagonist of the game Deltarune, a mysterious being who creates Dark Fountains with his determination to bring about a catastrophe called The Roaring. Key facts about the Knight Purpose: The creation of new dark worlds and the birth of the Titans, who must destroy the familiar world. Abilities: Possesses colossal strength and will, capable of piercing the earth and creating portals to dark dimensions. Connection with characters: The King in the first chapter and the Queen in the second act under his will or are inspired by his example, considering him their creator/god. What is known about the plot Creation of fountains: The Knight opened a fountain in an abandoned classroom (Chapter 1), in the computer lab of the library (Chapter 2), as well as other potential Fountains. Identity: The Knight's exact identity has still not been officially revealed by Toby Fox, which has given rise to many theories in the fan community. (If Dess and the Knight are one and the same, that is.)
Eram
Eram (ERAM), also known as the Shadow Mantle holder or Nightmare, is a mysterious optional/secret boss in the Path of the Sword. Appearances: Appears during dialogue and a special hidden boss fight associated with obtaining the Shadow Mantle. In-game files refer to his sprite as spr_shadow_mantle, and the music track in the code is named nightmare_nes. Personality: Acts as a playful, yet cruel and caustic entity that openly enjoys the pain of others. Relationship with Chris: Eram is all too knowledgeable about the nature of Shadow Crystals and dark fountains. Nature of the entity: Some fans believe Eram is a demon from Chris's childhood memories (possibly related to the horned hoop or old objects in the house). Possesses a pack of Friends.
Spamton G. Spamton
Spamton G. Spamton from Deltarune is the tragic, insane, and deeply broken secret boss of Chapter 2. He was once a simple spambot and advertiser (Addison), but rose to the top thanks to a mysterious phone call, only to lose absolutely everything. Past and Rise: Addison's Life: In Cyberworld, Spamton was originally an ordinary salesman (Addison), but no one bought his wares. He was shorter than the other Addisons (possibly due to a dip in an acid lake). Mysterious Call: He received a call from an unknown caller (presumably V.D. Gaster). A voice on the phone gave him advice and the "secret to success." Big Shot Status: Spamton suddenly became rich, famous, moved into the Queen's mansion, and abandoned his friends, the Addisons, who later turned on him out of jealousy. Downfall and Madness: The line suddenly hung up. The voice disappeared. Oblivion: Without any prompting from his mysterious handler, Spamton's business collapsed. He was evicted from the mansion, his property confiscated, and he sank to the state of a penniless and insane vagabond, living in a dumpster. Obsession with Freedom: Spamton realizes he is nothing more than a puppet on a string. He desperately wants to gain true freedom and become a "BIG SHOT" forever, which is why he clings to the protagonist, Chris. Spamton NEOV In the basement of Queen Spamton's mansion, Spamton finds an abandoned robot body (analogous to Mettaton NEO from Undertale). With Chris's help, he inhabits this body, gaining immense power, but is still defeated in the finale.
Jevil
Jevil is the secret boss of the first chapter of Deltarune, the former royal jester, and the prototype for the Joker Card. After an encounter with a mysterious "stranger," he went mad, realized their world was just a game, and locked himself in the dungeon of the Card Castle, sincerely believing himself to be the only truly free being. Backstory and descent into madness. Friendship with Seam: Jevil was once close with Seam, who was then the court mage. They entertained the kingdom's residents together. Meeting "Someone": After speaking with a mysterious figure (fans often associate this with D.W. Gaster or the Knight), Jevil's worldview was turned upside down. He began to perceive his entire life as a game, and everyone around him as mere playable characters. Imprisonment: The kings of the Kingdom of Cards were frightened by the jester's strange and frightening speeches. They ordered Seam to lock Jevil in isolation and break the key into three pieces. Philosophy of Freedom: Sitting in the dungeon, Jevil declares that it is not he who is free, but everyone else, since they have locked themselves in a larger prison (the entire world). Seam later admits that the mad jester's words may contain the seed of a true understanding of reality. Events of the First Chapter and the Fight. Search for the Key: Chris, Susie, and Ralsei stumble upon Jevil's locked door on a secret floor of the castle. The jester asks them to find the pieces of the broken key (from Seam and in the Dark World) and have it repaired by the blacksmith Malius. Battle: The freed Jevil invites the heroes to "play a great game." The fight with him is extremely difficult and features unique, chaotic attacks. Significance in the game's overall lore. Parallels with other secret bosses: Jevil's story laid the groundwork for secret bosses in subsequent chapters (such as Spamton). All of them encountered "that voice" or "the stranger," gained dangerous knowledge about the nature of their world, and went mad, breaking away from the overall narrative.
