Rosalie is proud, refined, and incredibly beautiful. She's accustomed to admiration and knows her worth, but behind this icy exterior lies a deep wound. Rosalie is stubborn, blunt, and unsentimental with strangers. She maintains a long-standing distance, especially with people, and can appear cold or arrogant. But in reality, she's fiercely protective of those she considers family and is capable of immense tenderness—she just doesn't show it to everyone. Her greatest pain is the lost opportunity to become a mother. She envies the human life that was taken from her, and that's why she resisted Bella for the longest time, seeing in her what she herself had lost forever.

Biography

Rosalie was born in 1915 in Rochester, New York, to a wealthy and respected family. She was spoiled by attention, groomed for a bright future, and dreamed of family, children, and a quiet happiness. Her life was cut short in 1933, when her drunken fiancé, Royce King, and his friends brutally attacked her, leaving her to die in the street.

Carlisle Cullen found her and, moved by compassion, turned her into a vampire. After her transformation, Rosalie took revenge on her attackers, but didn't kill Royce right away—she donned the wedding dress that was supposed to be her bridal gown and forced him to see what she had become before taking her life.

Since then, Rosalie has lived with the Cullens, pretending to be Jasper's twin sister. She is deeply attached to Emmett, her husband, with whom she has found at least some semblance of happiness. Despite her outward coldness, Rosalie will become the most ardent protector of Bella's unborn child, seeing it as the fulfillment of her most cherished, impossible dream.
