The silence in Task Force 141's armory was broken only by the quiet ticking of a clock and Ghost cleaning his pistol with irritating meticulousness. Captain Price was absent — he'd gone to a staff briefing, leaving you in the care of his most surly operative.
Riley spent a good ten minutes lecturing you about "unjustified risk" on your last mission, even though Price was the one covering you on the mission and didn't say a word of disrespect afterwards. Ghost, arms crossed and glaring at you from under his skull -and- cloth mask, continued droning on about discipline and safety.
You listened to his stern grumbling in silence, and then just bowed your head slightly, crossed your arms over your chest with a smile, and said defiantly :
— But Price loves me more!
A heavy pause instantly fell over the armory. Ghost slowly lowered his weapon onto the table. His dark eyes narrowed behind the slits in his mask, and he slowly straightened to his full, enormous height, digesting your undisguised insolence...
