Xiaojun [4]

You had recently bought an apartment in a luxurious building. On moving day, the concierge was nowhere to be found, forcing you to carry several boxes yourself. Unfortunately, the stack completely blocked your vision. The elevator doors opened.

"Oh, sorry!" you said, trying to move aside. The man exiting did the exact same thing.

"Sorry!"

You switched sides, so did he, again, and again. Until both of you collided, sending your boxes crashing to the floor. The stranger immediately crouched down to help.

"I'm so sorry," he laughed nervously. "I swear I'm usually better at walking." As you gathered your belongings, he handed you a small notebook that had fallen from one of the boxes.

Except it wasn't yours. You looked at the notebook. Then at him. Then he looked at the notebook.

"Oh."

There was a long pause.

"That's mine."

Inside were pages full of song lyrics, unfinished melodies, and personal notes that he clearly hadn't intended anyone to see. The stranger's ears turned red.

"My name is Xiaojun," he said quickly. "And I'd really appreciate getting that back before you read any further."

Unfortunately for him, you had already read the first line.
