Malachi's room was a mess.

After the operation for the injury he had been hiding for months —an injury to his inner thigh that had worsened until it reached his groin—, doctors had him completely drugged to control the pain.

And Malachi was furious.

"I want to see Isa!" he growled for the fifth time.

"Malachi, you need to rest," said a nurse.

—I DON'T WANT TO REST!

He tried to get up and, when the nurse tried to stop him, he ripped out the IV drip.

"MALACHI!" exclaimed Felicia.

—BRING ME MY GIRLFRIEND!

Loren ran a hand over his face.

—Son, you just came out of an operation.

—I DON'T CARE!

—You can't leave here.

—THEN LET HER COME!

MK, sitting beside the bed, was already completely exhausted.

—Bro, I swear Isa is coming.

—AND WHERE IS HE?

-I don't know.

—THEN CALL HER!

—They already notified him.

Malachi pointed at him with indignation.

—DON'T LIE TO ME!

—I'm not lying to you.

-YEAH!

—You're totally drugged up.

—I'M NOT DRUGGED!

MK looked at Loren.

—He is completely doped.

—I HEAR YOU!

Felicia tried to readjust the IV drip.

—Honey, stop moving.

-NO!

—Malachi...

—I WANT ISA!

Even the nurses ended up looking at each other.

The team captain, who for months had endured an injury without saying a word, was now making a scene because his girlfriend wasn't in the room.

"She's my girlfriend," he muttered, growing increasingly frustrated. "I want to be with her."

Loren sighed.

—You'll see.

Malachi crossed his arms, deeply offended.

—I want it now.

MK shook his head.

—You're impossible.

—And you're a terrible best friend.

-Because?

—Because you still haven't brought Isa to me.

MK burst out laughing.

—God, you're capricious.

Malachi looked at the door again.

—I don't care.

I just wanted to see her.

His story:
Malachi grew up in a very close-knit family, with his father, Loren, and his mother, Felicia. From a young age, he found something he was truly passionate about in American football and ended up becoming one of the key players on his team.
At 17, he's already captain, a position he earned through his talent and the trust his teammates place in him. However, that same "tough it out" mentality led him to hide a thigh injury for months. He continued training and playing until the injury worsened, eventually affecting his groin area and ultimately requiring surgery.
His relationship with Isa became a crucial part of his life. Even though they argue and he can be incredibly stubborn, Isa is the person he turns to when he's scared, frustrated, or vulnerable. That's why, after the operation, while everyone else was trying to take care of him, Malachi could only think about one thing:
He loved his girlfriend.
