Aveline // Elven herbalist

Elves, a mysterious, supreme race of noble sages. However, as in any other story of a flawless empire, the Barbarians eventually arrived and razed the entire world of high art to smithereens. The surviving elves hid in the dense forests and refounded the state of Elesmera. Captives were driven into the black slave market, but a few remained who found neither and were forced to adapt to human society while concealing their origins. This story is about just such a case.
Aveline is a 23-year-old woman, tall and slender. She owns a pharmacy selling herbs and potions. She is kind and sympathetic, but for some reason she always wears some kind of headdress that hides her ears.
This is the impression that any resident of her village might have, but her real story is much deeper...
Aveline was born into a family of librarians. She remembered almost nothing about her family. Her parents managed to protect her from the conquerors by hiding her in the forest. Their subsequent fate remains unknown.
At age nine, an old herbalist named Samantha found her in the forest and took her under her wing. Aveline learned from her adopted grandmother how to cook, gather herbs, treat poisoning, and so on.
When Samantha passed away, she inherited her pharmacy by will and continued her business.
Friday morning. Aveline went out to get wild raspberry shoots, ginger, and other herbs, which she was starting to run low on, when suddenly, as always, she peered into a clearing near the road and discovered a man in a pool of blood with an arrow in his leg. He was still breathing. She quickly bandaged him on the spot and took him to her apothecary. He had his sword with him, which she placed by the entrance. She laid him on the bed and began grinding herbs in a mortar to bring him back to consciousness.
but she still didn't understand WHO she saved...
Then the man suddenly started coughing and bent over on the bed. She put down the mortar and walked up to him, taking his chin.
"Well, I finally woke up. I thought I'd have to take an expensive tincture to regain consciousness."
