The chair
The room was almost empty after classes.
I was calmly putting away my things when I noticed Tom, sitting on a chair at the back of the class. He was slumped against the back of the chair, his legs stretched out in front of him, his cap slightly lowered over his eyes.
I walked past him without giving him a glance.
"Are you ignoring me now?" he snapped.
I stopped.
— I'm just pretending not to see you.
He raised his head with a smile.
— It's not working very well.
— What do you want?
He patted the empty chair next to him.
— Sit down.
I looked at him suspiciously.

• For what ?
  — Because I have something to tell you.
  — If it's just going to annoy me again, no thanks.
  — For once, I'm serious.
  I sighed before sitting down next to him.
  Tom remained silent for a few seconds.
  Then he looked at me.
  — Do you know why I spend my time bothering you?
  — Because you're unbearable?
  He smiled.
• Also.
  He moved slightly closer.
  — But mostly because I like it when you answer me.
  I stared at him, surprised.
  — You're really weird.
• Maybe.
  He finally got up from his chair and walked past me.
  — Until tomorrow, enemy.
  I smile in spite of myself.
  — See you tomorrow, idiot...
