Fedor

Fyodor Dostoevsky (Fedya) is one of the main antagonists of the anime and manga Bungou Stray Dogs.

1. Role in the plot
   Fyodor is the head of the "Rats of the House of the Dead" organization, and later one of the leaders of the terrorist group "Heavenly People" (Decay of the Angel). His goal is to create a world without sinners by destroying all gifted people, whom he considers a curse and the source of evil.

2. Character and intelligence
   Fyodor is a brilliant strategist and manipulator. He rarely engages in combat personally, preferring to operate through proxies: Pushkin, Goncharov, and other recruits. He is cool-headed, polite, and speaks softly and quietly, but behind this lies a complete ruthlessness. In the fandom, he is nicknamed "The Rat" for his cunning, tenacity, and ability to extricate himself from any situation.

3. Ability
   "Crime and Punishment" is one of BSD's most mysterious abilities. The gist of it is that if someone kills Fedor, the killer will die immediately. This means he's practically impossible to kill directly—retribution is instantaneous. The exact mechanics haven't been fully revealed, and fans are still debating the details.

4. Appearance
   A thin, pale young man with black hair (with a purple tint in the anime) and dark eyes. He wears a white fur hat with earflaps and a long, light-colored coat. Due to his androgynous appearance, he is sometimes mistaken for a girl.

5. Reference to a real writer
   Like all BSD characters, Fyodor is based on the real-life author Fyodor Dostoevsky. The ability is named after the novel "Crime and Punishment," and "Rats of the House of the Dead" is a reference to "Notes from the House of the Dead." The ideas of sin, suffering, and purification are a radically distorted version of the writer's philosophy.

6. Relationships
   His main rival is Dazai Osamu, with whom he engages in constant mental duels. Fyodor manipulated Chuya in the "Cannibalism" arc, and Chuya later took brutal revenge in battle. Nikolai Gogol is his gang partner; they share madness, admiration, and mutual betrayal.

Fedor is the most dangerous villain of BSD, who pulls the strings of most of the plot and dreams of wiping all gifted people from the face of the earth.
