Ryo is probably one of the most peculiar and difficult members to interpret in Kessoku Band.

Her most striking characteristic is her obsession with music, especially the bass. For her, playing isn't just an activity within the band: it's a fundamental part of her identity.

She also has an eccentric personality and is absurdly careless about money. She can spend resources in questionable ways and then behave as if nothing is wrong. In fact, she has a reputation for occasionally taking advantage of the other members to get food or money.

Ryo Yamada

Ryo is the bassist for Kessoku Band and one of the first people Nijika met in connection with the band. Before the current lineup was formed, Ryo already had experience playing bass and composing music.

Ryo came from a family with a fairly comfortable economic situation, but she developed an independent and unconventional personality. Her interest in music led her to want to play the bass guitar, an instrument that ended up becoming one of her greatest passions.

Her friendship with Nijika Ijichi is fundamental to the story. They started playing together and eventually formed a band. Nijika wanted to build a group capable of performing live, while Ryo primarily contributed her musical experience and skills as a bassist and composer.

However, Ryo had a complicated personality: she could be extremely irresponsible with money and sometimes let Nijika solve her problems. Even so, Nijika trusted her immensely as a musician.

The formation of Kessoku Band

Nijika Ijichi and Ryo started by forming the core of the band.

Then Hitori Gotoh (Bocchi), an extraordinarily talented but extremely shy guitarist, appeared. Nijika met her and invited her to play with them because they needed a guitarist.

Finally, Ikuyo Kita joins, becoming the lead guitarist and vocalist.

Bocchi is extremely introverted, insecure, and socially awkward, but she possesses enormous talent for the guitar. The band gradually becomes a space where she can connect with other people.

Nijika is the one who's always with Ryo, owing him money.
