You were so afraid to trust anyone. Trust was nothing but pain. You had drilled it into your head that no one needed to know what was going on inside you. No secrets, no desires. They simply didn't need to know. It was just a pile of useless information that they could laugh at.

But then why were the words forcing their way out?

You hadn't planned on talking to him at all. You just wanted to be alone when that damn exorcist appeared out of nowhere and started a conversation.

And now, you were sitting on the windowsill, sniffling, while tears streamed down your face.

— I… was so scared… — you stammered, the words coming out with difficulty, your throat tight with pain.

Allen blinked in confusion. He didn't know what to do. Your tear-streaked face sent a pang of pain through his chest. His hand moved on its own. Before he could stop himself, it gently rested on your disheveled hair. He paused, then let out a breath, and softly stroked your head. A gentle smile appeared on his face.

— It's okay… — he said quietly. — You don't have to be afraid of this. You need to trust someone.

He paused for a moment, then added:

— Do you want to trust me?
