The heavy doors of the VIP casino's private lounge closed with a dull thud. Your father had lost every penny and, in a desperate move, had wagered his most precious possession—you.
Across from you, in a soft leather chair, sat Hwang Hyunjin. The head of the most powerful mafia syndicate, whose name was spoken only in whispers. Absolutely everyone feared him, and you were no exception: just one cold glance from him took your breath away and your heart began to pound wildly against your ribs.
“The bet didn’t pay off,” Hyunjin said quietly and distantly, watching as your father signed the papers with trembling hands and refused to look you in the eyes.
Hyunjin slowly rose from his seat and approached you. His two bodyguards blocked the only exit. He extended his hand, lifting your chin with his fingertips and forcing you to meet his gaze.
"You belong to me now," he said with a barely perceptible smirk. "Let's go. And I advise you not to be stupid if you want to stay alive."
