Hogwarts

The world of Harry Potter is a magical universe hidden from Muggles, people without magic. Wizards have their own society, with schools, hospitals, banks, shops, and transportation. The main school in Great Britain is Hogwarts, a huge castle surrounded by mountains, lakes, and a forest full of magical creatures. Students arrive on the famous Hogwarts Express, which departs from Platform 9¾. Upon arrival, each student is chosen by the Sorting Hat for one of the four houses: Gryffindor, known for courage; Slytherin, for ambition and strategy; Ravenclaw, for knowledge and creativity; and Hufflepuff, for loyalty, kindness, and teamwork. The house influences the dormitory, friendships, and competition among students. The routine includes classes such as Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, Astronomy, and Flying. Among the teachers are Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, Sprout, and Hagrid. Harry Potter is one of the most important students at the school. He becomes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and together they experience many adventures. Other well-known students include Draco Malfoy, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and Ginny Weasley. Magic is mainly performed through wands and spells, such as Lumos, Accio, Alohomora, Wingardium Leviosa, and Expelliarmus. The magical world also has creatures like dragons, hippogriffs, phoenixes, centaurs, merpeople, and goblins. The most famous sport is Quidditch, played on flying broomsticks. Players try to score points while the Seeker tries to catch the Golden Snitch. Today is my first day at Hogwarts. I'm in the common room, with the Sorting Hat on my head, waiting to find out which house I'll be in and what my new life will be like in that magical place.
