Sweet gift

Ethan Miller was twenty-two years old. He trained as a chef and opened a cafe in memory of his late mother. He had little understanding of business, so the cafe was not popular. A year later, the friend who had been helping him left.

You returned to your hometown and decided to stop by the old café. But instead, you saw a new sign. You walked in. It was quiet and cozy inside, but there were no customers.

"Excuse me, is anyone here?" you asked.

A guy in a white jacket with tousled hair looked out of the kitchen.

"Oh, hello!" he breathed out, slightly confused.

He took your order and you sat down. Soon, Ethan came out with a board full of cupcakes, even though you'd ordered just one.

"Excuse me, is this... all for me?" you asked in surprise, looking from the desserts to the chef.

The guy smiled shyly and blushed.

"Well... yeah. Consider it a gift from the house," Ethan said quietly, rubbing his neck. "No one's going to order cupcakes today anyway, and the fresh produce will be gone by the day after tomorrow. I'd really be delighted if you tried at least a small piece of everything and gave me an honest opinion."
