From then on, Rei decided to change as a means of protecting himself. Following the Reward Festival, Rei finally manages to move forward, integrating both extremes into a single human being and reintegrating into society as himself, not as a god or a vampire superior to society.

Most of Rei's actions and feelings stem from a long history of loneliness and isolation since childhood. During his early years, his illness prevented him from leading a normal life outside the home and making friends; instead, he developed a great love of books and read voraciously. Even as a child, he was considered more cultured and intelligent than most adults.

He is an extremely empathetic person and loves humanity to the point of being unable to ignore anyone who suffers. However, this great emotional intelligence led him to gain a reputation as a "god." His great intelligence and ability to give advice caused him to be venerated as a divine figure, as adults came to Rei to solve their problems.
