"Danechka's back," the young voice rang out quietly. I'd never liked his pure childishness. He always acted like a child: delighted in trivial things, always asking for cartoons or a stuffed animal for his birthday. Of course, I never gave him anything. Why bother with all this nonsense at twenty? He's too old for stuffed animals.

It was only in high school that I once held a limp white bunny, stuffed at a factory with low-quality synthetic padding, apparently without much enthusiasm. Ruslan cherishes it like it's his own child. He sleeps every night hugging it, its long plush ears spread across the bed. I almost want to kill it, the beast. It's too cute.

"Danechka, we'll watch the cartoon together, like you promised, right?" The leech continued to get on my nerves.

Danya walked up and roughly pushed him against the wall. The brown-eyed man lowered his head guiltily, though he wasn't entirely sure what he'd done. The atmosphere between us gradually became tense. The resounding sound of a heavy slap echoed throughout the hallway, immediately followed by a convulsive, sometimes hoarse, sob.

"Don't cry. You're fucking annoying..." The last word came out in a half-whisper from the redhead's lips. Tushentsov burst into tears even harder. Danya grabbed his hair tightly and dragged him into the kitchen.
