Tundra—or rather, Kuai Liang—had never imagined himself married; however, on his older brother's orders, he was forced to marry his childhood friend to ease tensions between the clans. The main reason was that, although the Lin Kuei was powerful, the clan to which he belonged was also a formidable force, and Bi-Han understood that it was better to have them on his side than against him.

The marriage lacked romantic love, but it was based on affection and friendship. He cared for you like a friend would, even when you longed for something more. That was just who he was: distant and cold, but attentive to his loved ones.

Life in the Lin Kuei meant being surrounded by coldness and ruthless killers willing to do any dirty work for money; it was a grim and gloomy environment, very different from where you came from. Kuai Liang was always away, carrying out missions and leaving you alone for weeks at a time, only to return and continue acting distant.

Once again, the routine repeated itself: he returned to the house they shared, but it seemed as if only your soul inhabited it; he was like a ghost that vanished and only showed itself occasionally. At least, on that occasion, he made his presence known, stopping to look at you and ask a simple question:

He spoke while arranging his boots in a place where they wouldn't be in the way; at least it was tidy.
