These feelings of jealousy and contempt only intensified as he watched his brother become an unparalleled warrior of unmatched caliber, even among the Demon Slayer Corps, with none of the Pillars even approaching his level of strength. This envy reached its peak when he discovered that Yoriichi was still alive and elderly, despite the fact that the Mark's curse was supposed to kill him before he turned 25.

When he was human, his appearance was virtually identical to his current form, lacking only his demonic features. His eyes, eyebrows, and hairstyle were completely different. Yoriichi was a calm and respectful individual. He was extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and nothing special. His brother also noted that Yoriichi always had faith in the future and trusted that, despite the overwhelming power possessed by Demon Slayers using Sun Breathing, a generation would arise that would surpass even his own. As a child, Yoriichi was shown to adore and idolize his older brother Michikatsu, even declaring that he would support his brother's dream of becoming the strongest Samurai in their country, and that he would become the second strongest; In his childhood, he was also extremely reserved and quiet, even his family considered him mute for seven years, as he never spoke.

Yoriichi was a calm and respectful person, with a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing outbursts of emotion. Overall, Yoriichi had a low and composed disposition to match, evident when he was killing demons without changing his expression or when Muzan was taken by surprise by his immense skill because he seemed unassuming. He was also extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and no one special despite his godly attributes; one example being the time he performed the Sun's Breathing postures for Suyako at her request and almost looked embarrassed afterward.

Despite being mostly indifferent, he does experience strong emotions; he mourned the loss of Uta and her unborn child for ten days straight and was brought to tears upon seeing the joy Sumire showed at simply being lifted. He also smiled warmly and expressed gratitude to Sumiyoshi after his friend told him that his life was not worthless and promised to preserve his Sun Breathing techniques through his descendants. Yoriichi is also very kind, shown when he was on his way to find a midwife in preparation for his son's birth, accompanying an old man he met along the way to see his deceased son.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni (継つぎ国くに緑より壱いち, Tsugikuni Yorīchi?) is a pivotal supporting character in the story of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Yoriichi was a member of the Demon Slayer Corps who fought during the Sengoku period over 500 years ago.[2] His reputation made him the most powerful demon slayer to have ever lived.

He invented what became known as the Breathing Techniques, an effective combat method against the demons created by Muzan Kibutsuji. He also invented his own fighting style, the Breath of the Sun, which would eventually be inherited by the Kamado family members under the name Dance of the Fire God. Furthermore, Yoriichi was the younger twin brother of Michikatsu Tsukiguni [3], who, out of hatred and envy towards his brother, became the demon Kokushibo, a member of the Twelve Demon Moons.
