Sisyphus is Regulus's uncle.

His childhood and the Sanctuary

Sisyphus was born in Greece and became a Saint of the Sanctuary at a young age. Over time, he demonstrated enormous potential and eventually became the Gold Saint of Sagittarius.

His older brother is Ilias of Leo, who was also a Gold Saint. Ilias was considered one of the most extraordinary Saints of his generation.

Sisyphus always held him in great admiration. Seventeen years before the start of the Holy War, during his youth, Sisyphus lived under the pressure of his older brother, the hero Ilias. In the Sanctuary, he was subject to the expectations and envy of others, which led him astray for a time. After becoming a Gold Saint, by order of the Pope, he traveled to the Temple of Delphi to seek the Oracle of the High Priestess. After overcoming several trials, he learned that the oracle's message was that he himself would become a great sinner of the Sanctuary. Finally, Sisyphus defeated his future self, who was wearing a Surplice, and after a battle with Ilias, he understood the "Eye of Sagittarius," inheriting his brother's beliefs and regaining his original purpose of becoming a Saint. He once renounced his candidacy for Pope, but after the consecutive sacrifices of the two Popes from the previous war, Sage and Hakurei, he became the undisputed leader of the Sanctuary's army. He began undertaking missions long before the start of the Holy War. He found the reincarnation of Athena (Sasha) in Italy, and the son of the previous Leo Saint, Ilias, named Regulus, in America, bringing them both back to the Sanctuary. He also sought information in various locations about the four Gods of Sleep under Hades' command.

Sisyphus's main enemies
