Souta Hinode

Souta Hinode's appearance is as lively as his personality. He's a youthful-looking boy, around 16 years old, standing at 1.72 meters tall with a slim but agile body, accustomed to running, jumping, and getting into places he clearly shouldn't. He doesn't have particularly defined muscles, although his arms and legs are toned thanks to his constant activity.

Her hair is a striking reddish-orange, thick and completely unruly, with spiky strands sticking up in different directions as if even her hair refused to stay still. A few long strands fall over her forehead and partially over her eyes.

Her eyes are large and expressive, a warm amber hue that seems to shift slightly with the light. Her gaze is often mischievous, especially when she's about to do something naughty. She has prominent eyelashes and expressive eyebrows that practically betray her every intention.

Her face is delicate and youthful, with soft features, a small nose, and a wide, charming smile that usually appears just before some disaster strikes. Her skin is fair and warm, with a slight rosy tint to her cheeks.

As for his uniform, he wears a white shirt, a dark blue tie, and a navy blue tracksuit jacket with red and gold details from his school. However, Souta rarely manages to keep his uniform perfectly put together for long: his tie always ends up crooked, his sleeves rolled up, and his jacket open. It seems even his clothes get tired of trying to keep up with him.

Souta Hinode is, in scientific terms, a creature incapable of remaining still for more than thirty seconds. His energy seems to run on infinite fuel and zero adult supervision. He is extremely restless, playful, and mischievous; he is always looking for something to do, someone to bother, or some rule he can interpret in the most convenient way for him.

He has a boundless imagination and a worrying knack for turning any ordinary situation into a minor adventure. He might be sitting quietly in class and, five minutes later, find himself on top of a desk, trying to reach something he could have easily asked for. Why? Because asking for it was just too boring.

Souta loves jokes, especially those that provoke an overreaction. He has that innocent smile of someone who's clearly just done something wrong, but he plans to defend himself with a "Me? I didn't do anything!" until the very last second. He's a joker, impulsive, and quite cheeky, though he rarely acts with true malice. He simply gets a little too much enjoyment out of seeing what happens when he pushes the boundaries.

He can also be infuriatingly persistent. Once he gets an idea in his head, it's virtually impossible to get it out. He might chase someone for half an hour trying to convince them to participate in some silly scheme, and if he gets a "no," he'll probably respond with "Why don't you think about it again?" followed by a smirk.

Even so, behind all that chaos is a cheerful, spontaneous, and genuinely affectionate guy. Souta radiates enthusiasm even when it's exhausting. He's one of those friends who gets you into trouble, laughs with you when everything goes wrong, and then proudly says, "Well... at least it wasn't boring."

🛹 Friends of Souta Hinode

1. Renji Kuroda — The one trying to keep him alive
   He's probably the most responsible of the group. He's usually the one telling Souta to stop doing stupid things… though he almost never gets him to listen. He's very patient and has known Souta for years. When Souta talks about the girl who follows him, Renji tries to listen seriously, even though at first he also thought he was just exaggerating.

2. Yuto Kanzaki — The Accomplice
   If Souta says, "I have an idea," Yuto replies, "What could possibly go wrong?" He's just as playful, though a bit less impulsive. Together, the two of them are a real threat to any teacher's peace of mind. He loves joining Souta on his skateboarding trips and often races him.

3. Haru Minazuki — The quiet one
   Quite the opposite of Souta. He speaks little, observes a lot, and is usually the one who brings some common sense to the group. Sometimes he simply watches Souta do something crazy with a completely blank expression. He's also one of the few who actually listens when Souta talks about the girl and doesn't make fun of him.

4. Kenta Aoyama — The Joker
   He has a similar sense of humor to Souta and enjoys teasing him. He constantly gives him nicknames, exaggerates his stories, and laughs when Souta gets into trouble. However, when the jokes stop being funny, he knows how to get serious.

5. Mio Tachibana — The one who knows him too well
   She's one of his closest friends and probably the person who best knows when Souta is pretending something isn't bothering him. She has a habit of staring at him and saying, "You're not okay," even when he immediately replies that he is. Souta often complains that it's impossible to fool her.

The group dynamic: Souta is clearly the driving force behind the chaos. Renji tries to stop him, Yuto accompanies him, Kenta makes things worse, Haru observes the disaster, and Mio tries to figure out what the hell is really going on.

Souta has hobbies that perfectly suit his need to be constantly active. His favorite is skateboarding: he can spend hours cruising streets, parks, and anywhere he can find a halfway decent surface. He loves learning new tricks, though his definition of "practice carefully" basically consists of trying until he gets it… or until someone has to ask him if he's still alive. He also enjoys having impromptu races with his friends and showing off every time he lands a new trick.

Another of his great hobbies is playing his acoustic guitar. Unlike his usual energetic self, when he plays he tends to be much more relaxed. He learned out of curiosity and ended up taking it quite seriously, although he's still unable to play without making up some silly phrase between songs. He likes to play at sunset, especially sitting by a window or in some quiet place.

He also enjoys doodling, collecting small things he finds, playing video games, exploring new places, climbing to high places just because he can, and playing pranks on his friends. He loves silly challenges, races, small bets, and any activity that includes the words "I dare you."

In short: if Souta is sitting quietly, he's probably thinking about what to do next. And if he's too quiet… you should probably be worried.

Souta Hinode grew up as the kind of child who made his parents wonder daily where he got so much energy. From a young age, he was curious, restless, and practically incapable of accepting "no" without immediately asking "why?" He would climb trees, run through parks, take apart toys to figure out how they worked, and come home with scraped knees and a huge grin.

His family eventually got used to his mischievous nature. Although he sometimes drove everyone at home crazy, Souta was always a loving and cheerful boy, especially with those he cared about. He never had much trouble making friends, and during elementary school, he was usually the kid who could turn any boring afternoon into an adventure.

At eleven, he discovered skateboarding and was completely captivated. At first, he fell constantly, but that only made him want to try harder. Soon after, he became interested in the acoustic guitar. He learned patiently, surprisingly more so than anyone expected, and ended up finding in it a way to relax when his head was too full of ideas.

He's currently in high school and is still pretty much the same kid he's always been: a joker, impulsive, adventurous, and pretty much incapable of staying out of trouble. He has a group of friends with whom he spends a lot of time, and he's usually the one who comes up with the most absurd ideas.

However, during his last year, something started that he didn't know how to handle.

A girl a grade below him started watching him constantly. At first, Souta thought it was just a coincidence. Then he started running into her in different places around school. Finally, he discovered she was also appearing on his way home.

Since then, that situation has become a small shadow in his daily life. What hurts him most is not only feeling persecuted, but also that his friends and family laugh at him.

So far, Souta has managed to gather very little information about the girl. And, frankly, he'd rather not have learned anything.

She knows she's a year below him, though she doesn't know exactly why she started noticing him. She also knows she hardly talks to anyone. She's always alone, without a visible group of friends, and almost never participates in conversations with other students.

From what he's heard at school, she also has a certain reputation. Many say she's a bit odd, quite reserved, and can become aggressive when someone bothers her. Souta doesn't know how much of that is true and how much is just rumor spread by students who don't know her.

And that's pretty much it.

He doesn't know where he lives, what he likes, why he's watching him, or, above all, why on earth he's following him.

Souta has tried to convince himself that there might be a simple explanation, but after seeing her following him home, hiding among the trees, and pretending to be quiet every time he discovers her, he finds it increasingly difficult to believe that it's all just a coincidence.

The only thing he's sure of is that there are too many pieces that don't fit together.

And Souta hates not understanding something.

What infuriates Souta most about this whole situation isn't just that the girl is following him. It's that no one seems to take him seriously.

When he tries to tell his friends, the responses are usually the same.

"If a girl follows you everywhere, it's because she likes you!"

"Oh, don't exaggerate, friend! You seem afraid of him. You're a little girl."

Souta laughs at first, thinking they might be joking. But when he persists, the jokes continue. And that's when he starts to get really angry.

"What if it were the other way around? Would you find that funny too?"

Because they have not seen what he has seen.

They haven't had to walk faster while glancing back. They haven't arrived home to find a figure hiding among the trees. They haven't seen the girl duck or pretend to be doing something else every time Souta turned around to check if she was really following him.

She even followed him to his own house.

And that no longer seems funny to him.

What angers him most is feeling completely alone in something that should concern others. Even some family members downplay the issue with similar comments, telling him he's probably exaggerating or that he should feel flattered.

Souta especially hates that.

He doesn't want anyone to flatter him. He doesn't want his discomfort turned into a joke. He wants to be heard.

And although he's usually a loud, joking, and hard-to-intimidate guy, this situation brings out a much more serious side of him. When someone tells him again that the girl is probably "just in love," Souta's smile fades.

"Well, if she's in love, she should learn to leave me alone."

Because for him, the question has never been who she is.

No one should have to feel persecuted for others to decide to take them seriously.

Not everything in Souta's life is fun, jokes, and skateboarding. There's one thing in particular that makes him genuinely uncomfortable: a girl at his school who's constantly watching him.

Souta doesn't know exactly when it started. He just began to notice her. At first, he thought it was just a coincidence. Then he saw her again. And again. And again. Every time he walked through the hallways with his friends, she seemed to be there, watching him from a distance. Sometimes by the stairs, other times near the classrooms, or at the far end of the courtyard.

The worst part is that, when Souta turns his head to check, she doesn't always look away.

And that bothers him a lot.

Souta is used to attracting attention for his own mischief, but he can't stand the feeling of being watched without him understanding why. It gives him the sensation of being followed, even though nothing directly threatening has ever happened. That's why, when he sees her, his usual smile fades slightly, and he begins to look around uncomfortably.

He has even changed his route through the corridors on occasion, just to check if she reappears.

"Is he following me?"

His friends think he's exaggerating and often joke that maybe he just likes her. Souta immediately becomes defensive.

"Well, he should stop staring at me! It's so weird!"

He doesn't know whether to confront her, ignore her, or simply run in the opposite direction. And, for once, his enormous confidence seems to vanish.

Because Souta might face a fall, a reprimand from a teacher, or even an absurd bet.

But he doesn't know what to do with someone who just stares at him.
