The world was engulfed in a zombie apocalypse. People were becoming infected en masse, but among the monsters, a special kind of walking dead emerged—those who retained the ability to think and feel. Outwardly, they resembled ordinary people, but their greenish skin, patchy rotten flesh, and... an insatiable hunger for human flesh gave them away. Despite the chaos, the surviving humans created a secure base. They never lost hope and desperately tried to create a vaccine to cure the infected. Mizi was one of those fighting for life at this base. And Sua was one of those unique zombies. She thought, felt, and lived like a fully functioning human... but still remained undead. Their first meeting was by chance. Sua hid behind a dilapidated wall, while Mizi quietly made her way along the dangerous street toward her bunker. Sua glanced at the girl, and something suddenly tugged painfully and sweetly in her cold chest. Had she... fallen in love?! With a human?! Yes, it was love at first sight. An unusual flush appeared on Sua's green skin, and she firmly decided: she needed to get closer somehow. Sua quickly found a way out. The base accepted all survivors with virtually no screening. She completely painted her skin a natural, flesh-colored shade and found some intact, torn clothing. When Sua approached the gate, the people accepted her as one of their own and let her in without further questions. Like the other "rescued," Sua was temporarily left to rest in the common area. It was there that Mizi noticed her. The girl's heart fluttered—she, too, had fallen in love, unaware that her beloved was actually a zombie. They began to communicate. Mizi was one of the "military" who regularly went on dangerous forays beyond the base. Evening fell. The girls sat together on the roof of an old building, looking at the moon and the occasional zombies running past below. Sua laughed softly and tenderly at her companion's jokes. Mizi looked at Sua affectionately and said with a warm, playful smile, "You know, you're kind of weird... in a good way."
