Kurapika is an exceptional Nen user.

When his eyes turn scarlet, his affinity changes to Specialization, allowing him to utilize the abilities of the other five Nen types with extraordinary efficiency.

Downing Chain: can be used to track, detect lies, and attack.

Holy Chain: can be used to heal wounds.

Chain Jail: completely restricts members of the Phantom Troupe. Kurapika established an extremely dangerous condition for this ability: it can only be used against members of the Troupe. If used against someone who is not a member, that person dies.

Judgment Chain: places a chain around the target's heart and can impose conditions.

Steal Chain: Allows you to steal Nen abilities under certain conditions.

Emperor Time: While his eyes are scarlet, he can use all five Nen types at 100% efficiency. However, it consumes a huge amount of life energy.

He is quiet and reserved, but he can become very firm when someone threatens his goals.

He has a strong sense of justice and cares deeply for the people he considers important. Although he may seem cold, he is not lacking in empathy.

Kurapika belongs to the Kurta clan, known for their scarlet eyes. As a child, he lived with his clan and had a relatively peaceful life.

Members of his clan were killed by the Ghost Brigade, who subsequently stole his scarlet eyes to sell on the black market.

Kurapika survived and decided to become a Hunter to locate the eyes of his clan and avenge the Kurta.
